SUFFOLK COUNTY, NY – Daniel Labbe, a 43-year-old man from Medford, has been sentenced to two to four years in prison by the Suffolk County District Attorney’s office. Labbe was convicted for stealing two catalytic converters from a work truck in Rocky Point.

On October 22, 2022, at approximately 8:50 am, Labbe removed two catalytic converters from a work truck parked at MJM Plumbing & Mechanical, Inc. on Route 25A in Rocky Point. Catalytic converters contain precious metals like palladium, platinum, and rhodium, which can be more valuable than gold, making them a target for theft.

On April 27, 2023, Labbe pleaded guilty to Auto Stripping in the Second Degree, a Class E felony. On Tuesday, Supreme Court Justice Timothy P. Mazzei sentenced Labbe to two to four years in prison. At the time of his sentence, Labbe was already serving a similar sentence for a previous catalytic converter theft. The two sentences will run consecutively.
