BALTIMORE, MD- A Washington, D.C. resident, who prefers to purchase her lottery tickets across the border in Maryland, recently hit the jackpot with a remarkable $50,000 Powerball win on the May 10 drawing. While she had enjoyed previous lottery successes, none of her past prizes came close to the win she secured this time.

With no one having matched all six numbers in Powerball since April, the jackpot has been steadily growing, leaving the lucky player from D.C. excited about the prospect of hitting the full amount.

Confident in her chances, she declared, “That’s coming,” as she claimed her $50,000 third-tier prize on May 16 at Maryland Lottery headquarters in Baltimore, accompanied by her husband. She optimistically added, “There’s more to come.”

When asked about her preference for purchasing Maryland Lottery tickets, the winner cited convenience as the primary reason. While her previous notable wins on the Maryland side included a $1,356 prize many years ago, her largest win on the District of Columbia side amounted to $2,500.

The winning ticket, a hot $2 quick-pick, was purchased at the Eastern Avenue BP gas station located at 4501 Eastern Avenue in Mt. Rainier.
