MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD – The Major Crimes Division of the Montgomery County Department of Police is looking into the death of an 18-year-old who was shot at the Wheaton Metro station last Thursday.

At around 5:53 pm, 4th District officers arrived at the scene where they found Tenneson Vaughn Leslie, Jr. of Greenbelt, suffering from a gunshot wound. Leslie, Jr. was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition and later declared deceased.

The detectives’ preliminary findings indicate that Leslie, Jr. and a group of acquaintances engaged in a dispute with another group of males on the escalator. The conflict escalated, resulting in Leslie, Jr. being shot on the train platform.

The suspects fled, and no arrests have been made thus far.
