Argument between two women ends in Shooting in Hanover

HANOVER, MD – On Sunday, at approximately 12:00 a.m., Anne Arundel County police officers responded to a report of shots being fired in the 2100 block of Piney Branch Circle in Hanover.

Upon arrival, they discovered two females engaged in a heated argument in front of a building. According to the victim’s statement, the suspect struck her with a firearm and discharged it into the air.

Officers promptly detained the suspect and subsequently located a firearm in her apartment during a search. The recovered weapon, along with a spent shell casing, was collected as evidence. No physical injuries or property damage were reported due to the incident. Further examination revealed that the firearm was reported stolen in Georgia.

The suspect, identified as 31-year-old Samarie Torres-Gautier, was taken into custody and charged accordingly.
