Hinchliffe Stadium, Legacy of the Negro Leagues, Reopens in Paterson

PATERSON, NJ – On Monday, Senator Nellie Pou commemorated the refurbishment and reopening of the historic Hinchliffe Stadium in Paterson. This historic stadium, one of the last standing venues where Negro Leagues baseball games took place during the segregation era of Major Leagues, is a testament to the courage and resilience of those players who played there.

“Looking forward, the revitalized Hinchliffe Stadium represents an era of inclusivity and positive change for Paterson. It will serve as a platform for young individuals of all races and ethnicities to engage in sports and realize their dreams and possibilities”.
