Woman sought in Newark home invasion

NEWARK, NJ – Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé is seeking the public’s assistance in locating Tomika L. Amons, 46. Amons is wanted for questioning in relation to a home invasion that took place on Thursday.

The incident occurred at approximately 4:50 a.m. when three men forced their way into a residence on the 200 block of Shephard Avenue. They assaulted the resident and stole a cell phone, laptop computer, cash, and other items before fleeing.

Amons, who is described as 5’7″ tall and weighing 145 pounds, is believed to have information pertinent to the ongoing investigation. Anyone with information on her whereabouts is urged to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477).
