Pedestrian struck and killed in Montgomery County

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD – A fatal pedestrian collision took place on Veirs Mill Road, which is now under investigation by the Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) of the Montgomery County Department of Police. The incident happened on Sunday.

4th District officers and Montgomery County Fire Rescue personnel arrived at the intersection of Veirs Mill Rd. and Newport Mill Rd. at around 5:04 am. The adult male victim, identified as 46-year-old Hernan Zuasnabar Cunyas from Silver Spring, was struck by a dark blue 2007 Toyota Rav4 traveling eastbound on Veirs Mill Rd. The driver remained at the scene.
