PLAINFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA – On Friday, May 19, at approximately 2:57 P.M., Slate Belt Regional Police responded to a call regarding “suspicious activity” at the Citgo in Plainfield Township. The incident involved Louis W. Coopersmith, a tall, balding man who was reportedly behaving inappropriately in the presence of a minor.

Police located Coopersmith at a nearby beer distributor. He was noticeably under the influence of alcohol. Further investigation revealed that Coopersmith had urinated publicly in the parking lot while attempting to converse with a juvenile.

Coopersmith was taken into custody and transported to the Northampton County Central Booking Center, where a Magisterial District Judge set his bail at $50,000. He currently resides in the Northampton County Prison. The charges against him include indecent exposure, disorderly conduct, and public drunkenness.

The Slate Belt Regional Police encourage anyone with further information about the incident to come forward.
