Two Hudson County Men Sentenced to 30 Years for 2019 Fairview Armed Robbery

HUDSON COUNTY, NJ – On Tuesday, Raul Torres of North Bergen and Carlos Burgos of Jersey City were sentenced to 30 years in New Jersey State Prison (NJSP) for their roles in a fatal armed robbery in 2019. The robbery resulted in the death of David Duque Soto in Fairview, NJ, on June 29, 2019.

Both Torres and Burgos, who pled guilty to aggravated manslaughter, robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, and weapons offenses, are required to serve 85% of their sentence without parole.

The sentence was issued by the Honorable Margaret M. Foti, P.J.Cr. Torres and Burgos are the latest defendants sentenced in this multi-defendant case.
