MIDDLESEX COUNTY, NJ – Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and East Brunswick Police Department Chief Frank LoSacco reported on Friday that two juvenile males were taken into custody following a severe motor vehicle accident on Ryders Lane near Winton Road. The incident occurred on Wednesday, at approximately 11:32 A.M.

Officers found five vehicles involved in the crash, four of which sustained damage. A Mercedes SUV overturned and struck a Honda head-on due to the juveniles’ vehicle impact. A tractor-trailer was also involved in the crash. The driver of the Honda and a juvenile passenger were transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital. The driver was discharged earlier today, but the juvenile remains in critical condition.

The juveniles face charges, which, if committed by an adult, would constitute aggravated assault, assault by auto, and other offenses. Both juveniles will remain detained following a preliminary hearing held today.
