HARRISBURG, PA – Jesse Krzan, a resident of Lackawanna County, was recently found guilty by a Luzerne County jury on charges related to the 2021 rape of a 19-year-old college student.

The charges included rape and sexual assault.

Krzan, 26, will receive sentencing in August. Following the verdict, he was taken into custody at Luzerne County Prison. The assault occurred in a dorm room at Misericordia University on April 29, 2021.

According to testimony, the victim, who was recovering from a concussion at the time, allowed Krzan, an acquaintance, to stay in her room due to unsafe driving conditions.

Upon awakening, she found Krzan assaulting her. The assault was reported to campus security and DNA evidence from the scene matched Krzan’s. Video evidence also placed Krzan in the building at the time of the crime.
