Brooklyn man arrested for deadly shooting

BROOKLYN, NY – In an update to an ongoing investigation, the New York City Police Department has announced the arrest of Dupree Gales, a 38-year-old male from Brooklyn.

On Thursday, Gales was taken into custody within the confines of the 75 Precinct and has been charged with murder and criminal possession of a loaded firearm.

This development comes after police responded to a distress call about a male being shot in front of 794 New Lots Avenue.

Upon arrival, they found Cody Toledo, a 33-year-old male, with a gunshot wound to the chest. Toledo was rushed to Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center where he was later pronounced deceased.
