Man shot and killed in Jamaica, Queens

NEW YORK, NY – Police are investigating a shooting early this morning in Jamaica, Queens that left one person dead.

The man was fatally shot on Wednesday at around 2:03 a.m., prompting a response from the police following several 911 calls were made.

The incident took place at 123-20 82nd Avenue.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a 32-year-old male with gunshot wounds to the chest. Despite the arrival of emergency medical services, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 65-year-old male was taken into custody for questioning as a person of interest. Authorities also recovered a firearm at the location. The identity of the deceased is being withheld at this time to allow for proper family notification.

The suspect’s name has not been released.
