Man on Parking Garage Ledge Causes Stir in Downtown Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH, PA – A recent disturbance in the downtown area of Pittsburgh led to the police, fire, and EMS departments being alerted to a potential crisis on Smithfield Street. Reports came in regarding a man atop a parking garage in the area, who was seen shouting and peering over the edge, leading to concerns that he might be preparing to jump.

Responding officers promptly secured the surrounding area, blocking Smithfield Street and 7th Avenue for public safety.
