Guns, drugs seized in Roxbury bust

BOSTON, MA – On Wednesday, around 10:18 AM, Drug Control Unit officers from Districts D-4 (South End) and B-2 (Roxbury) arrested Joe Lopez, 53, of Providence, RI. The arrest occurred in Trotter Court, Lower Roxbury, as part of an ongoing investigation.

Officers executed search warrants for both the suspect and a residence, leading to the recovery of a 9mm Glock model 17 handgun, a .45 caliber Smith and Wesson handgun, 4 magazines, a 50 round drum magazine, several rounds of ammunition, one rifle scope, 50 grams of Fentanyl, one bag of crack-cocaine and other evidence.

Lopez is due to appear in Roxbury District Court, facing charges including Unlawful Possession of a Firearm (2 Counts), Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Unlawful Possession of a Large Feeding Device (3 Counts), Trafficking Class A Drugs, and Possession with Intent to Distribute Class B Drugs.
