OCEAN COUNTY, NJ – Lisa Dowd, a 52-year-old resident of Barnegat, has been sentenced to three years in New Jersey State Prison for theft by the Honorable Linda G. Baxter, J.S.C. Dowd pleaded guilty to the charges on March 21, 2023. She has also been ordered to pay restitution to the victim totaling $108,415.

Investigations by the Barnegat Township Police Department found that Dowd, while working at a marina office, had forged checks from various bank accounts belonging to the marina. These checks were used to pay for her utilities, her credit card bill, and were also deposited into her personal account. The total amount stolen from the marina amounted to $108,415.

Dowd surrendered herself at the Barnegat Township Police Headquarters on November 23, 2022, and was charged pending future appearances in Ocean County Superior Court.
