CLAY TOWNSHIP, PA – The Northern Lancaster County Regional Police Department responded to reports of a firearm discharge at a business located on the 1700 block of West Main Street in Clay Township. The incident occurred on Tuesday.

The investigation revealed that a customer mishandled a large caliber firearm being offered for sale at a nearby firearms dealership. The weapon discharged a round that travelled through a wall and caused damage to a neighboring commercial facility. This establishment was occupied by several individuals, including children, at the time of the incident.

A search warrant served on June 1, 2023, allowed the seizure of the firearm and other items of evidentiary value. No injuries were reported, and the investigation continues. Any person with additional information is encouraged to contact the NLCRPD.
