Fatal Collision in Camp Springs Under Investigation

PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, MD – A fatal collision last Friday morning in Camp Springs is under investigation by the Prince George’s County Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit. The deceased driver was identified as 18-year-old Leyah Ellis of Clinton.

Officers on routine patrol in the 4700 block of Auth Place discovered the single-vehicle collision at around 7:00 am. Preliminary investigations suggest that Ellis, who was traveling eastbound on Auth Place, lost control of her vehicle, causing it to veer off the road.

The exact cause of the collision is still under investigation. Anyone with information relevant to this case is asked to call the Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit at 301-731-4422.
