Man charged for Queens murder

New York, NY – Police have made an arrest in a murder incident that took place on Sunday in the area of Georgia Avenue and Wortman Avenue in Queens.

Trevon Cuffy, a 38-year-old male residing at 153-15 107 Avenue, was taken into custody and charged in relation to the incident. The charges filed against Cuffy include murder and criminal possession of a weapon. Authorities have not released additional details regarding the circumstances surrounding the charges at this time.

Police received a 911 at approximately 12:20 a.m. on June 4 regarding gunshots in the area.

Upon the arrival of police at the scene, they discovered a 33-year-old male victim with a gunshot wound to his chest. Emergency Medical Services transported the injured individual to Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center.

The victim, identified as Tjine Hemans, did not survive and was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
