New Jersey Teen Arrested for Carjacking in Dover

DOVER, DE – Cinque Oliver, a 19-year-old Atlantic City, New Jersey resident, has been apprehended by the Delaware State Police for a carjacking that took place in Dover on Friday. The search for a second suspect continues.

Around 5:21 a.m. on Friday, state troopers responded to a carjacking report at the Walmart located at 36 Jerome Drive. A 29-year-old Walmart employee reported that two unidentified men had approached her in the parking lot and demanded her car keys, threatening her with a weapon. The men then fled in her vehicle. The victim was unharmed.

Later that morning, state troopers spotted the stolen vehicle on Dupont Parkway near the Smyrna Rest Area. A pursuit ensued, resulting in a crash south of Summit Bridge Road. The driver, later identified as Oliver, attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended with the assistance of the Smyrna Police Department. The second suspect remains unidentified.

Oliver faces numerous charges, including robbery and firearm possession during the commission of a felony, and is currently held at Sussex Correctional Institution on a $1,105,000 cash bond.
