Norfolk Bank Robbery Suspect in Custody

NORFOLK, VA – Ricky J. Johnson, 44, was apprehended following an alleged bank robbery last Friday morning. The Norfolk Police Department reported that the incident took place at the Chartway Federal Credit Union on 132 Kempsville Road.

According to the bank’s tellers, Johnson entered the premises, handed over a note implying robbery, and demanded money. Following compliance from the staff, Johnson left the premises on foot. He was later located and arrested without incident on the 6200 block of Curlew Drive.

Following the investigation, Johnson has been charged with robbery and unlawfully wearing a mask. He is currently detained at the Norfolk City Jail without bond.
