Armed Suspect Surrenders at Newark’s Grove Apartments

NEWARK, DE – An armed man who had barricaded himself in the Grove Apartments, located in the 1100 block of Compass Way, surrendered to police on Monday afternoon without further incident. The subject, armed with a handgun, had barricaded himself in the apartment shortly after 1 p.m. He surrendered to the troopers at approximately 4:52 p.m. and was taken into custody without any reported injuries.

A considerable police presence remains in the vicinity as the investigation is ongoing. The roads leading to the apartment complex have been reopened. Further details about the incident and arrest will be released as the investigation progresses.
