Atlantic City police make arrest in stabbing incident

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ – On Saturday, the Atlantic City Police Department arrested Edwin Rivera, 44, for stabbing another man on a city street. Officer Consuelo Maldonado was approached by Rivera, who admitted to stabbing a 55-year-old man, who was found nearby with a wound on his neck.

Rivera resisted arrest but was eventually taken into custody.

The victim was transported to the AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Division, with non-life-threatening injuries.

Rivera now faces charges of aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and resisting arrest.
