LINDEN, NJ – Two men from Brooklyn, identified as Changzhu Lin, 42, and Tung Wong, 55, were arrested on Wednesday, following an incident of package theft from a local home on the 1700 block of Dill Ave.

An off-duty Linden Police Officer observed the men taking a package from the porch of a home and leaving the scene. The officer, who knows the homeowner, found the men unfamiliar and followed them while contacting Linden Central Dispatch.

Both men were apprehended separately in the vicinity. The undamaged package was recovered from some nearby bushes and returned to the owner.

Both Lin and Wong were charged with third-degree theft under the New Jersey Defense against Porch Pirates Act and were subsequently released pending a Superior Court appearance.
