19-Year-Old Arrested in Relation to Shooting in Paterson

PATERSON, NJ – Walter Simon, a 19-year-old from Paterson, was arrested on Wednesday, following a shooting investigation conducted by the Paterson Police Department, in collaboration with the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office and the Prospect Park Police Department. The shooting occurred on Tuesday, at North 4th Street and Halpine Street.

Paterson Police responded to a report of shots fired around 6:24 p.m. and found an 18-year-old male with a non-fatal gunshot wound. Simon was arrested in Prospect Park shortly after fleeing the scene. The investigation remains active and ongoing. Simon is expected to appear at Central Judicial Processing (CJP) Court on Thursday.
