WASHINGTON, D.C. – A teenage girl is currently receiving medical care at a hospital following a shooting incident just before midnight Saturday night in Southeast, D.C. The Washington, D.C. Metro Police Department is investigating the shooting and asking the public to help identify the suspect.
According to police, the victim stated that she had gone out for dinner with a man. They returned to the intersection of 5th and Newcomb Streets shortly before midnight and were seated inside the man’s vehicle.
It was during this time that an argument ensued between them regarding the man’s request for the girl’s house keys. The girl exited the vehicle and began walking towards her home when the man began firing shots at her, with one bullet striking her ankle. The teen was taken to a nearby hospital and is expected to survive.
The shooter, who remains at large, is described as a man with dreadlocks and face tattoos. During the shooting, authorities report that he was dressed in a black hoodie, black pants, a black ski mask, and pink shoes.
