Jersey City Man Sentenced to 18 Years in Prison for 2021 Aggravated Manslaughter

HUDSON COUNTY, NJ – On Friday, Steven Bardsley, 57, of Jersey City, was sentenced to 18 years in New Jersey State Prison for the stabbing death of Steven Bochman, 54, also of Jersey City, in 2021.

Bardsley pleaded guilty to one count of Aggravated Manslaughter on Wednesday, March 29, 2023. The sentence is subject to the No Early Release Act.

The Jersey City Police Department discovered Bochman’s lifeless body on Saturday, July 24, 2021, around 10 pm near 151 Cambridge Avenue.

He had sustained a stab wound to the neck and was pronounced dead at the Jersey City Medical Center at approximately 10:20 pm.
