Bayonne Woman Fatally Shot; Father Charged with Murder

BAYONNE, NJ – The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and the Bayonne Police Department are investigating a fatal shooting that took place on Monday.

At approximately 11:35 p.m., a distress call reporting a shooting led the Bayonne Police Department to an apartment at 331 Avenue E.

The officers discovered a woman, later identified as Keyanna Brown, 27, of Bayonne, with a gunshot wound to her upper body. She was pronounced dead at the scene at 12 a.m. on Tuesday.

Following investigations, Errol Brown, 52, of Bayonne and father of the victim, was arrested. He has been charged with Murder and Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose and is currently detained at the Hudson County Correctional Facility awaiting his first court appearance.
