Fatal Hit-and-Run Collision under Investigation in Montgomery County

SILVER SPRING, MD – The Montgomery County Department Of Police-Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal hit-and-run collision that occurred on Saturday. They seek the public’s assistance in identifying the vehicle involved in the incident.

At around 12:40 a.m., Montgomery County Police and Fire Rescue Personnel responded to a reported possible assault on the 800 block of University Boulevard E. On arrival, they found an adult male, later identified as Elmer Camacho-Aguilar, 30, with bodily trauma. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Further investigation and consultation with the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Washington D.C. revealed that Camacho-Aguilar was a victim of a hit-and-run collision involving a pedestrian and a vehicle. The driver of the vehicle did not remain at the scene.
