Late-Night Chaos in Baltimore As Barricaded Suspect Arrested, Man Shot

BALTIMORE, MARYLAND – Late last night, a ShotSpotter alert prompted a man to barricade himself inside an apartment in Southwest Baltimore. As authorities responded, they discovered a man who had been shot, adding another twist to the incident that unfolded late last night.

Shortly after 11 pm, officers from the Baltimore Police Department arrived at the 700 Block of Poplar Grove Street to investigate a ShotSpotter alert. At the location, police were told of an armed suspect inside an apartment.

Following a short barricade, authorities took a 24-year-old male suspect into custody without incident. At the location, officers located a 57-year-old male who had suffered a gunshot wound, which was determined to be non-life-threatening. The victim was taken to an area hospital for necessary medical attention.
