Police investigating Garmery Park subway train robbery

NEW YORK CITY, NY – The New York City Police Department is requesting the public’s help in identifying a man connected to a robbery that took place near Gramercy Park.

On Sunday, at about 1:00 AM, the 22-year-old male victim was waiting for a train on the northbound ‘1’ platform at the 14 Street and 7 Avenue subway station. An unidentified individual approached and attempted to snatch the victim’s chain.

After a failed attempt, the suspect punched the victim in the face, successfully took the chain, and fled the station. The victim sustained a minor injury but declined medical attention at the scene.

The stolen chain has an estimated value of $550.
