Toms River Democrats silent after homophobic rant from candidate

TOMS RIVER, NJ – Toms River Democrats need all the help they can get in November if they seek to defeat Republican Councilman Daniel Rodrick in the November general election.

Democrats, already scrambling over their mayoral candidate John Furey being accused of not living in town or not being up for the Rodrick challenge in November, are now dealing with another setback.

A Facebook post by Democrat council candidate Rhetta Jackson-Fair against the LGBTQ+ community will make it hard for the Democrat to garner votes from progressive Democrats.

In a Facebook post from August of 2016, Jackson-Fair said that homosexuals are ‘offending god’ and that people should condemn homosexuals and LGBTQ+ individuals because God condemns them.

“Stop lying to them that its ok being gay and God made them that way but they can choose eternal life and not temporary pleasures,” Jackson-Fair said. “Share with them how these things infected you. Teach them how to have fun without offending God. Don’t condone what God condemns.:”

She went on to call homosexuality a ‘generational curse’.

Jackson-Fair is a candidate for the Democrat party in Toms River running with John Furey for mayor.
