MAGNOLIA, DE – Howard Hampton, a 61-year-old resident of Magnolia, and Cheryl Brown, 48, also from Magnolia, have been arrested by the Delaware State Police in connection to a shooting incident that took place on Tuesday evening.

Last Monday, at around 6:45 pm, troopers responded to a shooting report from the 100 block of Moores Drive in Magnolia. According to the findings, a man and woman, aged 45 and 41 respectively, were walking when a white pickup truck passed by, shooting at them several times before fleeing the scene. Neither the man nor the woman was struck or injured by gunfire.

Subsequently, a trooper located the pickup on Millchop Lane and managed to stop it as it entered a residential driveway. The passenger, identified as Howard Hampton, resisted arrest but was eventually detained. Cheryl Brown, the driver, was also taken into custody. The firearm used in the shooting has not been recovered yet.

The duo was taken to Troop 3 and charged accordingly. Hampton, a convicted felon, is prohibited from possessing firearms and/or ammunition.
