Bayonne Police Department Announces Arrest in March Shooting

BAYONNE, NJ – James A. Johnson, a 59-year-old male, was taken into custody at his residence on Avenue E, Bayonne, NJ, on Wednesday, by the Bayonne Police Department.

This followed a detailed investigation of a shooting that took place on March 17, 2023, near the area of Costco on Goldsborough Drive. The victim, a 61-year-old male, suffered a gunshot wound to the leg.

Johnson was positively identified as the shooter and a .45 caliber Haskell semi-automatic firearm, believed to be the weapon used in the shooting, was recovered from his residence.
