Boston Man Arrested on Firearm and Drug Charges

BOSTON, MA – Officers from the District C-6 (South Boston) Drug Control Unit, alongside the FBI Metro Boston Task Force, apprehended Jerry Carrasquillo, a 39-year-old Boston resident, on Thursday, around 6:40 PM. The arrest, involving multiple charges including firearm and drug possession, followed an investigation in the area of Boston Street and Howell Street in South Boston.

Carrasquillo, detected in a street-level drug transaction near the McCormick Housing Development, was travelling as a passenger in a vehicle subsequently pulled over by officers. A search resulted in the recovery of a loaded .40 caliber Smith & Wesson handgun, five small bags of crack cocaine within a large plastic bag, a bag containing powdered cocaine, and $892.00 in U.S. currency from Carrasquillo and the area inside the vehicle where he was seated.

Carrasquillo is now due to appear in South Boston District Court facing numerous charges. These include Unlawful Possession of a Firearm (3rd and Subsequent), Unlawful Possession of a Firearm while in Commission of a Felony, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Armed Career Criminal Level 2, and Possession with Intent to Distribute Class B Drugs (2 Counts).
