BRICK TOWNSHIP, NJ – On Saturday, June 11, 2023, the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office charged Jeffrey Finlay, a 54-year-old resident of Brick Township, with Animal Cruelty.

This followed an earlier visit by the Brick Township Police Department to his residence on Mantoloking Road on May 4, where officers discovered around 157 cats and 3 dogs living in dire conditions.

On June 5, 2023, the Prosecutor’s Office and the local police department received veterinary reports, leading to further charges based on the neglectful conditions at Finlay’s residence.

Subsequently, on Wednesday, Finlay surrendered to Brick Township Police Headquarters and is now detained at the Ocean County Jail, awaiting a detention hearing.
