Holmdel, NJ – Early Friday morning, at approximately 4:20 a.m., a Holmdel police officer made an attempt to stop a stolen motor vehicle on Laurel Avenue, near Highway 35. The vehicle’s operator initially complied with the officer’s signal to stop but quickly fled the scene at a high rate of speed before the officers could approach the car safely. The pursuit ensued until the stolen vehicle eventually crashed at the intersection of Laurel Avenue and Middle Road.

Officers successfully apprehended two occupants of the vehicle, both 13-year-old females from Neptune, at the crash site. However, a third individual, described as a 13-year-old black male, fled the scene on foot and is currently being sought by the Holmdel Police Department.

The suspect was last seen wearing black sweatpants and a white hooded sweatshirt, and he is missing both shoes.
