Two Charged with Murder in Fatal Forestville Shooting

PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, MD – Lavelle Harris, an 18-year-old from Washington, DC, and a 17-year-old male from District Heights have been charged by the Homicide Unit of the Prince George’s County Police Department in relation to the fatal shooting of Kendall Batson, an 18-year-old resident of District Heights, on Thursday, May 11.

Officers found Batson in a parking lot on Ritchie Road, suffering from gunshot wounds. Investigations revealed the shooting was part of a carjacking incident.

Both suspects are currently in the custody of the Department of Corrections on a no-bond status.
