Assault suspect posed as ICE agent

Oxon Hill, MD – The Prince George’s County Police Department Sexual Assault Unit has successfully identified and charged a suspect involved in impersonating a federal law enforcement agent and sexually assaulting a woman in Oxon Hill. The accused individual is identified as 26-year-old Victor Antonio Reed, a resident of Washington, DC.

The incident was reported to detectives on June 13, 2023, at around 8:15 pm. According to the preliminary investigation, Reed approached the victim, an adult Hispanic female, as she was walking in a shopping center parking lot located in the 5400 block of Saint Barnabas Road. Reed, posing as an agent with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, displayed a badge and coerced the victim to enter his vehicle under the threat of deportation. Once inside the car, Reed proceeded to sexually assault her. Eventually, the victim was able to escape the vehicle and seek assistance.

After employing various investigative techniques, law enforcement successfully identified Victor Antonio Reed as the suspect. He was subsequently apprehended during a traffic stop in Temple Hills on June 15, 2023.

Reed now faces charges including first and second-degree rape, impersonating a law enforcement officer, a firearms offense, and additional charges. He is currently being held in custody by the Department of Corrections pending further legal proceedings.
