DUI Driver Arrested after Colliding with Police Vehicle in Arnold

ARNOLD, MD – On Monday, at around 11:00 a.m., an officer and a civilian county employee traveling in a patrol vehicle were struck by another vehicle driven by Hector Portillo, 35, from Oxon Hill. The suspect, found to be under the influence, fled the scene on foot but was apprehended a short distance from the accident.

The suspect’s vehicle held his wife and five children, who were transported to a hospital as a precaution. Both the officer and the civilian employee were uninjured. Portillo was arrested and charged accordingly.
