Lumberton Mall Shooting Claims Life of Teen

LUMBERTON, NC – An 18-year-old male, identified as Doriane McRae of Lumberton, was killed in a shooting near Biggs Park Mall on Monday evening. Lumberton Police Department reports that the shooting occurred just before 6:30 p.m.

Police say McRae and another individual were exiting the mall when they were targeted by gunfire from individuals waiting in the parking lot. McRae sustained gunshot wounds and was transported to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

In an unrelated incident, two individuals were detained following a pursuit that ended on I-95 north of Saint Pauls. The driver, a 17-year-old juvenile, is currently in custody at a juvenile detention center.
