PITTSBURGH, PA – Today, Sheriff Kevin M. Kraus recently announced the arrest of a Tarentum man, Jeffrey Shutak, 53, on charges of assaulting his 17-year-old son. Shutak was initially charged in July 2019 after a reported domestic disturbance on Freeport Road.

Officers noted several injuries on Shutak’s son.

In June 2020, Shutak failed to attend a pre-trial conference on charges of simple assault and endangering the welfare of children, leading to a bench warrant issued by Judge Bicket. Detectives located Shutak earlier today at a Grantham Street residence in Tarentum. Shutak was arrested without incident and transported to the Allegheny County Jail.
