Shooting on Newark-East Orange Border Leaves One Injured

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ – The East Orange and Newark Police Departments are jointly probing a shooting incident that occurred on Wednesday morning.

East Orange General Hospital alerted the police when a male patient with a gunshot wound was admitted around 1 a.m.

As per the victim’s statement, the shooting transpired on Chelsea Avenue in Newark. Police from both Newark and East Orange were deployed to scour the area, and a crime scene was identified near 36 Chelsea Avenue on the East Orange side of the border.

The victim’s condition is currently stable, according to medical reports. No arrests or motives for the shooting have been reported thus far.
