Man shot and killed in Queens

NEW YORK, NY – Police are investigating a deadly shooting Sunday morning in Queens.

The New York City Police Department has identified the deceased individual as Tyrell Smith, a 33-year-old male residing at 31-45 49 Street in Queens.

At approximately 12:20 a.m., law enforcement responded to a 911 call reporting a male who had been shot at the intersection of 31 Avenue and Hobart Street, located within the jurisdiction of the 114th Precinct. Upon arrival, officers discovered signs of blood at the scene.

Further investigation revealed that the victim, a 33-year-old male, had been privately transported to NYC Health and Hospitals/Elmhurst. The victim was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the incident. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting remains ongoing.
