Elderly Jewish man attacked, slashed in Williamsburg

NEW YORK, NY – Police are investigating a bias-motivated attack and slashing in Brooklyn against an elderly Jewish man.

The New York City Police Department is seeking the assistance of the public in identifying and locating an individual wanted in connection to a hate crime assault that occurred on Monday at around 5:25 PM in front of 492 Broadway.

According to police, an unidentified individual approached a 77-year-old male victim and hurled a cutting instrument at him, striking him in the face.

The attacker also made anti-Jewish remarks before fleeing the scene in an unknown direction. The victim received medical attention from EMS at the location. The Hate Crime Task Force of the NYPD is currently conducting an investigation into the incident.
