Cumberland man arrested after threatening woman with steak knives

CUMBERLAND, MD – A Cumberland man is in jail after threatening a woman with two large steak knives.

On June 25, the Cumberland Police Department responded to a reported assault in progress on Fourth Street. As a result of their investigation, an arrest warrant was issued for Brandon Marshall Ridgeley. The warrant was served on June 27, 2023, leading to Ridgeley’s apprehension.

According to the victim and a witness at the scene, Ridgeley allegedly rushed out of a residence and began yelling at them while holding two large steak knives. The victim stated that Ridgeley pointed the knives at her and made numerous threats, including threats of stabbing.

Brandon Marshall Ridgeley, 45 years old and a resident of Cumberland, Maryland, was taken into custody without incident. He has been transported to the Allegany County Detention Center, where he is being held without bond.

Ridgeley is facing several charges related to the incident, including Assault in the First Degree, Assault in the Second Degree, Reckless Endangerment, and Dangerous Weapon Intent to Injure.
