Juvenile and Mother Charged in Fatal Union City Collision

HUDSON COUNTY, NJ – Two individuals have been arrested and charged in relation to a deadly collision that happened in Union City on Monday, June 5.

A 16-year-old male, driving without a license, fled the scene after the collision.

His mother, a 37-year-old Union City woman, stands accused of hindering and giving false reports to law enforcement officers.

Both were arrested at the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office in Secaucus last Friday.

At the time of the accident, the deceased, a 73-year-old Fortunato Rojas-Solis, was working as a Union City Department of Public Works employee.
