Man who burned home he thought Jewish people were buying denied pretrial release

OCEAN COUNTY, NJ – Ron Carr, a 34-year-old resident of Manchester Township, was ordered to stay detained in the Ocean County Jail by the Honorable Wendel E. Daniels, J.S.C. (retired and temporarily assigned on recall) on Thursday. Carr faces trial on 36 criminal counts, including Bias Intimidation, Aggravated Arson, Arson, and Criminal Mischief.

These charges are in relation to incidents that transpired in Manchester Township on Tuesday, June 6, and the early hours of Wednesday, June 7. Carr has remained in the Ocean County Jail since his apprehension on June 7.

Senior Assistant Prosecutor Ashley Angelo presided over the detention hearing. Carr is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
