Two Charged in Fatal Motel Shooting in Camp Springs

PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, MD – The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit has charged two individuals in relation to a fatal shooting that occurred at a Camp Springs motel on Wednesday. A third individual was killed during the incident.

The deceased are identified as 26-year-old Karon Moore of Washington, DC, and 23-year-old Xavier Matthews of Temple Hills.

Keymonte Day, 24, of Washington, DC, and Christopher Jamar Jenkins, 22, of Capitol Heights, have been taken into custody.

The preliminary investigation suggests that the shooting took place during an attempted robbery of Matthews. Day is alleged to have conspired with the robbers, including Moore and Jenkins. The investigation remains active as detectives work to identify and arrest additional suspects.
