Newark Armed Robbery Suspects Captured

NEWARK, DE – Newark Police arrested Damire Lee, 19, and a 16-year-old male, both from Wilmington, for their alleged involvement in an armed robbery incident. The suspects reportedly accosted a woman waiting in her car on King William Street in the early morning of Thursday.

The victim recounted three males approaching her vehicle, one producing a handgun, and demanding she exit the car and hand over the keys. After rummaging through the vehicle, the armed suspect reportedly struck the woman with his gun as she called for help, before fleeing on foot with her belongings.

Through the use of investigative measures, including video evidence, Newark Police identified and later apprehended the suspects in Wilmington. They face charges including First Degree Robbery, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, and Second Degree Conspiracy.
